Tentative Schedule
It's time for the Big Lake Library's Summer Reading Program and we have a great program lined up for you this year!
Sign up begins June 6th. All our programs will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursdays except our last program will be held in the evening for our potluck and our July 4th activity will be held on Wednesday July 3rd.
June 6th - It's Ice Cream! - Help us start off our Summer Reading Program with some delicious ice cream and brownies. Sign up begins this day but ice cream and brownies will only be served between 2 - 3 p.m.
June 13th - Gardening - We'll either do a butterfly garden or plant plants, depending on the weather.
June 20th - Pet Show - Big Lake Susitna Veterinary Hospital hosts our annual Pet Show! Bring your pet to show off. If you don't have a pet, bring your favorite stuffed animal. All who participates earn a Chance Ticket!
June 27th – Shala Dobson – Picture book illustrations as art inspiration.
July 3rd – Wednesday – Because the 4th is on a Thursday we will have our activity on Wednesday this week. - Arts and Crafts
July 11th - Talent Show - Can you sing, dance, play an instrument or tell a joke? Share your talents and earn a Chance Ticket!
July 18th- Learn about Sand Hill Cranes
July 25th- 5:00 p.m. - It's a Potluck Barbecue! - Help us wrap up our Summer Reading Program with a potluck barbecue. Chance tickets will be drawn starting at 5:00 pm. A flag ceremony will follow and then dinner will be served. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and juice provided, just bring yourself and a side dish.
